Cuckoo Trattoria & Pizzeria, Coombs
As for dining al fresco, the best spot on the trattoria's beautiful patio is a set of bistro tables and rattan chairs at the base of a yellow plum tree ripe with fruit at the beginning of August. From this spot, you can also see over the edge of the patio to a pasture down below where the famous Old Country Market goats graze, when they're not on the sod roof.
Tucked in the back of Coombs Country Old Country Market is Cuckoo, an Italian Trattoria known for its sprawling outdoor patio and its traditional Italian style fare. Outside you're greeted with plenty of lush greenery surrounding the charming exterior; grape vines climbing along the twinkle lights above and Wisteria leaves draped over the entrance. Upon entering there is a wood-burning fireplace to the left and a dessert case to the right filled with delicacies like tiramisu and cheesecake. Indoors there are several separate dining rooms, with large windows and framed art grouped together gallery-style on the walls.
This cozy spot is perfect for sharing a plate of appetizers, any of their numerous fresh handmade pasta dishes (pictured above: the linguine creamy pesto) or well known Italian pizzas paired with Limoncello or Sangria. Soon followed by something sweet from the dessert case, of course.
